As our Slovak partnering news website Railpage.net informs, in 2024, the Slovak company RS Lease is experiencing a record year in terms of new locomotive deliveries. The year began with the arrival of the first four Vectron locomotives from Munich, part of a total of 28 ordered for the year. Overall, RS Lease will add 33 new locomotives to its fleet this year.
These include multi-system Siemens Vectrons, primarily designated for Czech Railways (České dráhy, ČD). Czech National Railways has ordered a total of 22 Vectrons for 2024 from RS Lease, which will complete a contract for 50 of these modern locomotives, with 28 already in operation.
The first four Vectron locomotives have already arrived in Bratislava and at the end of January, they were transported to Prague by Lokorail.
In addition to these, RS Lease will also deliver 6 Vectrons and 5 other modern electric locomotives to the BUDAMAR Group.
At the end of January 2024, RS Lease owned 67 Vectrons and expects to have 97 by the end of the year after fulfilling deliveries to ČD and BUDAMAR. Along with 5 additional electric locomotives, RS Lease will surpass 100 locomotives in its fleet.
According to RS Lease, after fulfilling this year's contractual obligations, the company plans to focus on stabilizing the company and continuing to provide quality services in existing contracts while considering the purchase of new locomotives to meet evolving customer expectations.
