The German construction logistics company and freight operator, BBL LOGISTIK, has announced an order of 10 DE 18 locomotives from Vossloh Rolling Stock, with an option for five more. It intends to enhance the company’s capacities in the field of infrastructure construction and repair.
BBL LOGISTIK has chosen this locomotive due to short delivery dates (by June 2024), and the possibility of running the DE 18 locomotive also on Hydrotreated Vegetable Oils (HVO) without any adjustments to the vehicle. According to both parties, this is an optimum balance between economic efficiency and sustainability.
The operator is gradually improving the fleet of its locomotives. It operates a single Siemens Smartron, an Alstom Prima H3 shunter, and leases two Stadler EuroDual locomotives from ELP, with another one ordered.
