Against the backdrop of a specially branded ICE, Deutsche Bahn (DB) CEO Richard Lutz, Federal Transport Minister Volker Wissing and UEFA EURO 2024 Tournament Director Philipp Lahm presented the partnership at Berlin Central Station.
Volker Wissing, Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport: "We have to make sure that an average of 56,000 guests and fans per match can get to the stadiums and fan zones safely and easily - in the host cities, nationwide and across borders. Our mobility concept focuses on rail and public transport. The partnership between Deutsche Bahn and UEFA is a strong signal in this respect.
DB, the official national partner of the UEFA European Championship 2024, is offering fans and participating teams from all over Europe a special deal: all 24 teams and all ticket holders from Germany and a further 32 European countries will be able to travel to the ten venues in Germany during the European Championship from 14 June to 14 July 2024 by rail at a reduced price and in a climate-friendly manner.
DB CEO Richard Lutz: "We have the unique opportunity to make UEFA EURO 2024 an inspiring event all about green mobility. That is why we cordially invite the participating national teams and all fans from Germany and Europe to travel with us. "
Anyone holding a match ticket and travelling within Germany will be able to purchase discounted national DB long-distance tickets for the outward and return journeys. For the first time there is a special offer for ticket holders from other European countries: they can purchase a discounted Interrail Pass for EURO 2024, which entitles them to travel to and from 32 countries in Germany and to make as many national DB long-distance journeys as they like for an individually selected period of time.
