The construction boom on German railways in the coming years means the demand for diesel locomotives is higher than usual. Bypasses of lines without overhead lines and the need for construction logistics create this demand. BBL Logistik is already well-established in this field and plans to cement its position even more: After ordering ten DE18 locomotives from Vossloh Rolling Stock, it has just confirmed the execution of an option for five more locomotives.
Stage V locomotives are already a very eco-friendly option. Still, BBL Logistik intends to go even further: "Thanks to the certified use of environmentally friendly HVO fuel, we can contribute to a reduction in CO2 emissions even in the area of new infrastructure construction and maintenance - i.e. on non-electrified routes," says Jens Ziese, Managing Director at BBL LOGISTIK.
Vossloh Rolling Stock intends to deliver all 15 locomotives in 2024.
