Following the recent large order of Alstom Traxx locomotives, France-based Akiem has reached out to Siemens Mobility for its fleet expansion again. After ordering 20 Vectrons in December 2021 and 65 a year ago, it will add 15 more now and the number of locomotives on order has reached 100.
Akiem has already successfully leased its Vectron locomotives to CER Cargo, or ecco-rail. In addition, this week, three locomotives were leased to METRANS, and Akiem confirmed to Railmarket News that five Vectrons locomotives would also be leased to Green Cargo.
