Tatravagónka has introduced two new wagon types to meet the growing demand for the transport of electric vehicles across European rail networks during the recently ended Innotrans exhibition.
Laados wagon: e-trucks ready
The Laados wagon, a 6-axle, 3-segment single-deck unit, is intended for the transportation of truck tractors and light utility vehicles. Optimized for heavy-duty electric truck tractors, it allows for loads up to 14.4 tonnes per unit. Its design minimizes loading height, making it easier to load and unload vehicles. The Laados complies with European standards, including TSI regulations and other UIC and EN standards, ensuring suitability for international rail operations.
Laaers wagons: e-cars redy
The Laaers wagon is a 2-segment, 4-axle, double-deck unit that supports the transportation of electric passenger cars, SUVs, and small utility vehicles. With an optimally designed interior for heavy vehicles up to 4 tonnes, it also features enhanced loading flexibility due to its adjustable upper deck, which can be folded down for single-deck transport.
The Laaers wagon also offers protection against surface damage to vehicles with its internal rubber coverings and includes automatic coupling technology.
Both wagons highlight the industry’s shift toward e-mobility transport needs, reflecting the adjustments required to support the growing presence of electric trucks and cars on European roads.
