The Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC) announced the arrival of three electric locomotives and 27 passenger coaches at the Port of Dar es Salaam.

The new arrivals are part of the equipment being acquired for the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). Locomotives were designed and manufactured by Hyundai Rotem, with electric equipment supplied by Škoda Group. According to TRC's Acting Director, Machibya M. Shiwa, there are now four out of 17 ordered locomotives from Hyundai Rotem in Tanzania. The first locomotive was received earlier and has been undergoing thorough testing by now.
