PKP CARGO has finalised the acquisition of 5 Siemens Vectron MS locomotives. With this recent addition, PKP CARGO now boasts a fleet of 25 Vectron locomotives.

The contract for the initial 15 locomotives was signed back in September 2015, and in 2019, PKP CARGO exercised an option to purchase an additional five electric locomotives. In 2022, the company acquired another 5 locomotives specifically intended for the development of intermodal transport in Poland and Europe. The contract has now been successfully concluded, and the final batch of Vectron locomotives has been delivered.

The agreement between PKP CARGO and the Center for EU Transport Projects includes funding to purchase 220 platform wagons for container transport. The contract, executed by the consortium of Wagony Świdnica and ASTRA RAIL Industries (members of Greenbrier Europe), also encompasses the procurement of five multi-system locomotives from the Cohesion Fund's Infrastructure and Environment Program.
