Established with a rail license secured in November 2023, the subsidiary will oversee operations related to machine transport, work trains, and freight.

Colas Rail unveils its latest project by creating Colas Rail Traction, a subsidiary dedicated to traction and freight operations throughout France. This subsidiary is a strategic move for the company, aimed at rationalizing and improving its services in machine transport, work trains, and general freight.

One of the main objectives of this new initiative is to improve customer service by leveraging the efficiency of rail transport, which is recognized for its carbon-neutral footprint. In addition, the subsidiary will prioritize the continuous training, development and supervision of drivers to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry regulations.

Located in Louveciennes, the subsidiary is an employment center that currently employs 140 professionals dedicated to the operation of Colas Rail Traction.

“With our specialized subsidiary Colas Rail Traction, we put our fleet of locomotives and autonomous equipment at the service of our customers to ensure the smooth running of our freight and traction services,” said Jean-François Milleron, France Deputy Managing Director.
