Baneservice, Norway’s largest railway contractor, already operates three Railvac machines in its fleet.

Railcare has received an order from Baneservice for a Railvac maintenance machine, valued at EUR 2.7 million. The machine will be produced at Railcare’s Skelleftehamn workshop throughout 2025, with delivery planned for the first quarter of 2026.

The Railvac is a diesel-powered vacuum excavation machine designed for railway maintenance applications such as cable management and reballasting. Its operating capability allows work in areas that standard excavators cannot access, including locations where traditional excavation methods might pose a risk to infrastructure assets.

Railcare has been focusing on increasing external sales of its proprietary machines. The contract with Baneservice follows this approach, with the new Railvac to be integrated into Norwegian railway maintenance operations upon delivery.

Baneservice provides engineering and contracting services for the Norwegian railway network.
