Previous generations of the technology are already installed in metro, regional and high-speed trains built by Alstom, and the next generation will now be part of another major project. Deliveries will start in 2024 and continue until 2028. For Knorr-Bremse, the order is worth a low double-digit million euro figure.
"After intensive development, we're launching our new CubeControl platform, which links the key elements of train braking systems even more intelligently," adds Nicolas Lange, Chairman of the Management Board of Knorr-Bremse Rail Vehicle Systems. "As the shift to rail mobility gains momentum, CubeControl can help to optimise traffic flows and further improve the availability, efficiency and punctuality of rail networks."
CubeControl now integrates the components of train braking systems even more intelligently. The complex interactions between, for example, electropneumatics, mechatronics, intelligent software and data have been enhanced and optimised. This makes it possible to further improve braking performance and dynamics and, for example, to avoid delays more proactively.
