EDITH GmbH & Co. KG focuses on the field of digitalization in the railway industry. Its main contribution to this area is its own Rail Network software. By simplifying processes, the everyday life of train drivers and other employees of railway companies is continuously becoming easier and improved. For example, web-based training, company-specific documents, route knowledge, and skills can be used and managed digitally.
The latest addition to the Rail Network software is now the innovative Report module, which complements the existing four modules (WBT, DocSync, GPS-S, and KomReg). The new module simplifies the communication structure between operational and administrative staff of railway undertakings about certain operational processes on the railway.
The Report module offers a solution for the time-consuming manual process where currently handover books, fault reports, and reports from forced braking of the PZB are still recorded in paper form. The module replaces handover books and other paperwork as PZB and fault reports can be easily processed and documented using photos or other files. All the necessary data is easily accessible to the relevant operational staff, can be systematically linked, and speed up the subsequent process of incident response and resolution. The fact that operational records can be stored in real-time opens up new possibilities for dispatching and monitoring.
Security-relevant information shall be collected and stored and, if necessary, processed and forwarded for further processing. This ensures that data for evaluation and decision-making is passed on to the responsible areas. EDITH GmbH & Co. KG plans to continue developing the Report module in the future for further digitalization and measures that will contribute to increased efficiency. In particular, it aims to relieve employees of the manual work steps of recording/collecting and using data. It also enables new evaluation and communication processes.
