Stadler – 2,500 FLIRT units manufactured
Twenty years ago, we first witnessed the name FLIRT from Stadler. It was an evolution of the previously-made GTW units. FLIRT abbreviation means Flinker Leichter Intercity und Regional-Triebzug (fast, light, innovative intercity and regional train). Since then, 2,500 units have been made, operating in 21 countries. Today, there are numerous propulsion systems available. Apart from the most popular and common electric, there are also battery, hydrogen and diesel FLIRT units.
