RS Lease has introduced a new maintenance service under its Rolling Stock Services (RSSB) division, operating from a newly established workshop in Bratislava.
The Bratislava workshop is equipped to handle a range of maintenance activities, from routine inspections to more complex repairs and overhauls. By bringing these services in-house, RS Lease wants to improve the efficiency and reliability of its locomotive operations, ensuring that each unit is maintained to the highest standards required for European rail networks. The workshop’s strategic location in Bratislava also positions it well to serve both local and international clients, providing accessible and timely service.
The Bratislava facility has an aim to become a hub for maintaining not only RS Lease’s fleet of Vectrons by Siemens Mobility, but also those of external operators seeking dependable servicing solutions. The workshop’s capabilities include the maintenance of locomotives operating under various power systems and safety requirements, making it a versatile asset in the company’s service portfolio.
The establishment of the RSSB workshop comes as RS Lease continues to expand its locomotive fleet. Recently, the company added two Vectron A35 locomotives to its roster, which are now assigned to BUDAMAR for operations between the Czech Republic and Italy. Additionally, a new Vectron A10 variant, homologated for the Dutch railway system, has also joined the fleet, with three more units expected by the end of the year.
