Europe currently has three new electric six-axle locomotive types: Stadler’s Euro9000/EuroDual/Euro6000s, Newag’s Dragons and Softronic’s TransMontanas. The last mentioned has just produced a locomotive TM082, which will be followed by TM 085 in April 2024 – and delivered to Softronic’s most important customer, DB Cargo Romania.
Over the past 10 years, the company bought 27 locomotives from this Romanian manufacturer, which is roughly 19% of its locomotive fleet in Romania.
At the end of 2023, Softronic also delivered four more TransMontana locomotives to Swedish Green Cargo (TM 076-079), while TransMontana 080 was delivered to local operator PSP Cargo Group Romania.
