On 21 November 2025, Alpacem, InterCal, and Innofreight officially launched the Terminal Peggau project in Austria. Located on a 2.7-hectare industrial site in Peggau, the terminal is intended to become a logistics hub for rail freight.
Demolition of existing buildings is scheduled to begin in early 2026. The terminal is designed to support intermodal operations, improve rail-based raw material logistics, and offer new rail access to surrounding businesses in northern Graz and the upper Styrian region.
InterCal has already started transporting quicklime by rail from Peggau to Košice in cooperation with Innofreight, using MonTainer XXLL WSF containers. Alpacem plans to use the terminal to streamline shipments between its own production sites and customers.
The terminal is positioned to benefit from new infrastructure along the Baltic-Adriatic Corridor, including the Koralmbahn and the future Semmering Base Tunnel. These upgrades are expected to increase the attractiveness of Peggau for companies requiring rail access for freight operations.
