This development represents the first new construction project of its kind in Europe in over three decades.


On 10.04.2024, VTG inaugurated a CO2-neutral maintenance workshop in Großräschen. The new workshop spans an area of 11,000 square meters, the facility boasts the capability to maintain approximately 2,000 freight wagons annually. The establishment of this workshop allows VTG to enhance its maintenance service offerings to clients, aligning with its objective to deliver top-tier services and cater effectively to customer demands.

The workshop is integral to VTG's broader environmental and sustainability goals, demonstrating a commitment to employing green energy sources and innovative technologies. These efforts are aimed at minimizing the company's environmental footprint and fostering sustainable practices within the industry.

Additionally, the new facility is set to contribute to the local economy by creating about 40 new job opportunities in the Großräschen area. VTG has expressed enthusiasm for providing a conducive work environment for dedicated professionals to thrive and advance in their careers.

The opening ceremony of the workshop was a collaborative celebration attended by VTG staff, business partners, clientele, and political figures, marking the culmination of the project's successful completion.
