Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ) and its Polish partners will start a new intermodal container service that will connect EU and Ukraine by rail. It will start in the port of Gdansk, where Polish partners of this service, Laude Smart Intermodal, PKP Cargo Connect, or even a newly established UZ Cargo Poland deliver container trains to one of four border crossings for containers transloading from standard to broad gauge: Yagodin, Izov, Mostyska and Chop.
In Ukraine, UZ’s intermodal subsidiary, Liski, takes over the transport to the final destination – terminals in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, or Vinnytsia. Liski takes care of providing containers, specialized rolling stock, loading and unloading, warehousing, storage of cargo, registration of transport documents, customs documents, and certification.
This is the first specific result of the intention that UZ expressed during the transport logistic 2023 fair in Munich.
