UZ Cargo Poland, together with JSC Ukrzaliznytsia, has transported a batch of generators provided by the French government to Ukraine, dispatching the train to Odesa after transshipment in Poland. Separately, ČD Cargo and its subsidiaries have delivered 72 vehicles for medical and rescue services to Ukraine by rail.
The generator shipment was delivered by road to the Zamość–Bortatycze terminal in cooperation with PKP LHS, where the cargo was transferred into gondola wagons. After customs clearance, the train departed for Odesa. Transport and forwarding within Ukraine were handled by the CTL branch of Ukrzaliznytsia for the Odesa Regional Military Administration.
UZ Cargo Poland stated that the same logistics scheme had previously been used for generator shipments from Lithuania, establishing a process for rapid transport to Ukraine.
ČD Cargo and its wholly owned subsidiaries ČD Cargo Logistics and ČD Cargo Slovakia have been involved in humanitarian shipments to Ukraine since the start of the war. The latest transport included 72 vehicles intended primarily for medical and emergency teams.
The train carrying the vehicles to the Ukrainian border was approximately 540 metres long with a total weight of around 930 tonnes, underlining the scale of the operation.
