With Tim expected to join the company by late summer 2023, G&W's UK/European operations will continue to be led by interim CEO Becky Lumlock, who is a UK-based operating partner at Brookfield Infrastructure, and Jack Hellmann, who serves as chairman of G&W's UK/European operations and is G&W's global CEO.
"Tim's extensive rail expertise and natural leadership skills will be a tremendous addition to our operations team, which consistently delivers industry-leading safety and service to our intermodal logistics and heavy haul customers. In the UK, where Freightliner offers customers the only one-stop shop for rail, road and terminal solutions, we look forward to Tim leading our growth strategy as we leverage our significant investments in terminal efficiency and train operations to deliver a world-class customer experience," explains this choice Jack Hellman.
Tim Shoveller, who began his rail career in 1992 as a train driver/guard with British Rail, joins G&W after nearly four years with Network Rail, where he led a transformation of the operational performance of the North West Central Route. His career has also included roles as managing director of Stagecoach Group's rail division, managing director of South West Trains / Network Rail Alliance and managing director of East Midlands Trains.
"I am delighted to be joining G&W at such a pivotal time for low carbon rail freight logistics. My priority is to lead the team to optimise the core business for our customers and drive growth into new markets in the UK and Europe. I look forward to building on the impressive work already underway and driving innovation to extend our industry leadership in safety, reliability and sustainability," identifies Tim Shoveller his priorities.
