The EIB loan represents 21% of the investment value, with the investment value of the project estimated at €1,1 million at current prices.
The second railway line between the Port of Koper and Divača will be 27.1 km long. The new line is designed (with the current line) for a throughput capacity of 212 trains per day and a transport capacity of 36.9 million tonnes per year.
The EIB also set the conditions for the start of the loan disbursement, which are: the completion of the excavation works in all tunnels, the completion of the entire financial structure and the completion of the environmental procedures, as well as the provision of financial resources related to the investments for the expansion of the Port of Koper.
The project is expected to improve Slovenia's connectivity with Central and Eastern Europe and bring benefits to the Slovenian economy.
