The 10-year financing was disbursed on 1 July 2026 under a framework agreement signed by EUROFIMA and BDZ in April.
The funds will support the acquisition of 18 intercity passenger coaches previously operated in Germany. BDZ plans to deploy them on public passenger services in Bulgaria.
Each coach offers seating for up to 80 passengers and is equipped with air conditioning. The vehicles have undergone several modernisation programmes, including the refurbishment of their interiors and the installation of external passenger information displays.
The transaction forms part of BDZ’s rolling stock renewal programme. It is the second financing tranche provided under the agreement, although EUROFIMA did not disclose the total value of the wider framework.
EUROFIMA finances the purchase and modernisation of public transport rolling stock in its European member countries.
