The event gathered representatives from shipping lines, ports, container terminals, railway operators, freight forwarders, container companies, technology providers and other businesses involved in international transport and supply-chain development.
Riga summit preceded Vilnius edition
The Vilnius event followed the first North Container Summit, held in Riga in 2025. That edition attracted 240 participants from more than 15 countries and over 100 companies active in logistics, transport, maritime trade and supply-chain services.
Conference programme covered freight markets and corridors
The main conference programme was held on 28 May. It opened with registration and morning networking before moving into presentations and panel sessions focused on container shipping, freight markets, Baltic logistics capacity and Central Asian transport corridors.
One of the main speakers was Lars Jensen, a container shipping analyst, who delivered a presentation titled “Global Container & Freight Outlook.” His session covered global shipping trends, freight market developments and factors affecting international container transport.
Panels addressed Baltic capacity and Central Asian routes
The programme included two panel discussions. The first, “Baltics 2026: Challenges, Capacity & Competitive Advantage,” focused on the Baltic region’s position in international logistics, including infrastructure, transport capacity, market competition and further development opportunities.
The second panel addressed Central Asian transport corridors. Participants discussed corridor development, current operational challenges, completed projects and future plans, with a focus on connections between Europe, the Baltic region and Central Asia.
Speakers represented rail, ports and logistics technology
Speakers and panel participants represented several parts of the international logistics chain. The list included Olena Stepanova, Senior Manager Sales & Business Development at DB Cargo Eurasia; Vitalij Mustiuk, CEO of KLASCO; Mindaugas Skunčikas, Head of Sales & Intermodal Development and board member at LTG Cargo Polska; Andres Uusoja, CEO and Chairman of the Management Board at Operail; Igor Maiorov, Managing Director at InterRail Europe; Mariuxi Chavez, Vice President of Sales at ORBCOMM and VIACHAIN; and Derek Ong, CEO of SIA Rīgas Universālais Termināls.
The speaker programme combined market analysis with operational experience from railway transport, terminals, intermodal logistics, port operations and digital supply-chain services. The event also provided a forum for companies active in container logistics to discuss capacity, corridor development and cooperation across regional markets.
Business speed-dating added structured networking
A two-hour business speed-dating session formed part of the Vilnius programme. The format allowed participants to introduce their companies, exchange contacts and discuss possible cooperation with logistics professionals from different countries and sectors. According to the event material, many of the discussions continued during the evening dinner and networking programme.
Second day focused on informal meetings
The second day, 29 May, was dedicated to informal networking. Participants joined a golf tournament after breakfast, with a beginner group available for attendees without previous golf experience. The programme was designed to give participants additional time for business discussions outside the formal conference setting.
