The company indicated that volumes from several regional firms would be consolidated to build regular services.

InRail will run its first train from the Interporto Centro Ingrosso di Pordenone on 2 April, marking the operational start of its terminal management contract. The departure follows the one-year direct award granted in January, ensuring continuity at the intermodal hub during the transition phase already reported by Railmarket.

At a 9 March meeting with shippers and logistics companies, InRail presented its traffic concept for the site and confirmed that additional connection requests have already been received.

InRail operates in Italy, France, Slovenia and Croatia, with links to major Italian ports including Genoa and markets in Central and Eastern Europe. Project material related to the Pordenone hub highlights its position on the TEN-T Mediterranean and Scandinavian–Mediterranean corridors, with connections towards ports such as Trieste, Monfalcone, Genoa, Livorno and Ravenna, and towards Austria, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Hungary and Poland.

Infrastructure works at the terminal include the extension of the shunting neck and the expansion of operating areas, while upgrades to the container depot and new parking areas have already been completed. The management contract runs from 15 January 2026 until 14 January 2027, with a possible six-month technical extension if the planned mixed public-private structure is not finalised within that timeframe.

The direct award followed the end of the previous arrangement and was presented by shareholders as an interim solution while the future governance model of the interporto is defined.
