METRANS acquires 50% stake in Arad South Terminal

The transaction concerns the Arad South intermodal terminal, located in western Romania near the Hungarian border.

METRANS Group has signed an agreement to acquire a 50% stake in Afluent Arad South Terminal in Romania, subject to legislative and regulatory approvals.

The investment adds the Arad facility to METRANS’ existing Central and Eastern European terminal network. The company said the partnership will focus on further development of the Arad South Terminal and expansion of intermodal services in Southeast Europe.

Afluent Arad South Terminal operates as an intermodal hub connecting rail and road freight flows in the region. Arad is positioned on key European freight corridors linking Romania with Hungary and onward to Central Europe.
