Once completed, the site is expected to produce one-third of Alstom's bogie frames globally.

Alstom has started the construction of a logistics hall at its Mátranovák facility, the final project under the Mátranovák 2030 Development Program. The hall, valued at EUR 1.46 million, is designed to support increased production capacity and accommodate expanded logistical needs. Spanning 827 square meters, the facility will handle larger volumes of raw materials, components, and finished products resulting from the program's capacity expansion.

The Mátranovák development program, initiated in 2022, represents a total investment of EUR 14.6 million. Through this initiative, Alstom aims to increase its bogie frame manufacturing capacity by 40%, positioning the Mátranovák site as a critical contributor to the company’s global operations.

The facility upgrades have included the acquisition of new machinery, such as edge bending machines, enhanced plasma cutting equipment, and a new welding robot. Modern container offices and meeting rooms have also been installed. Alongside infrastructure upgrades, the transition to a cell-based production system has begun, with the intention of optimizing manufacturing processes.

The Mátranovák site has been producing bogie frames for over four decades, supporting various types of trains across Europe, including high-speed, suburban, and double-decker vehicles. The facility employs 720 professionals and is a significant contributor to the local economy in Nógrád County.

The construction of the logistics hall will begin in spring 2025 and is expected to take one year to complete. The program is being implemented with support from the Hungarian government, aligning with Alstom’s broader presence in Hungary, which spans over two decades.
