Latvian LDZ CARGO appointed new candidates for the positions of board chairman and board member, as recommended by the nomination committee.
Alģirds Miķelsons brings extensive international experience in the management of transportation companies to his new position. Since 2019, he served as the CEO of MAU Technic LLC in Ukraine and previously held the position of Vice President for Technical Issues (CTO) at Ukraine International Airlines. His background in aviation, a sector demanding high levels of responsibility, efficiency, and professionalism, has equipped him with valuable experience in strategic development, process optimization, and revenue growth. Miķelsons has earned a Bachelor's degree in Law from the University of Latvia, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Oxford University, and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Science in Machine Science from the RTU Aviation Institute.
Olga Bondare has been appointed to the board with responsibility for financial matters. She previously held the position of Finance Director at Maxima Latvija and has served as the Baltic and Scandinavian Finance Director at Puratos Latvia, as well as Regional Finance and Logistics Director at BIC Deutschland GmbH in Germany. Besides her professional career, Bondare has experience as a lecturer at the Riga Law School, teaching courses in company valuation and financial accounting. She holds a Master's degree in Law and Finance from the Riga Law School. Bondare's long-standing and international experience in financial strategic management, planning, and development is expected to contribute to the competencies of LDZ CARGO and the Latvian Railway conglomerate as a whole.
From 18.3.2024, the LDZ CARGO board will operate with three members, including Miķelsons, Bondare, and the continuing board member Mārtiņš Pevko.
