Søren Skou to chair VTG advisory board

With effect from 1 January 2024, Søren Skou, a proven industry expert with international logistics experience, takes over from Alexander Granderath, who was chairman of the advisory board until 30 September 2023.


In his role as Chairman of the VTG Advisory Board, he will advise the shareholders and the Executive Board of VTG. Commenting on his new role, Skou said: "I am looking forward to being part of VTG's exciting growth and to working closely with CEO Alberto Nobis and his impressive team. The growth of rail freight transport in Europe is an important lever to decarbonise our economy in the coming decades".

Søren Skou has held various management positions in the Maersk Group worldwide since 1983. He was part of the Executive Board of A.P. Moller-Maersk from 2007, before heading the company as CEO from 2016 to 2022. During his tenure as CEO of Maersk, Skou led a massive transformation of Maersk from a diversified conglomerate to an integrated, digitised and customer-centric global logistics company.
