Two hours ago, a truck and a passenger train collided in the Olomouc district of the Czech Republic. The fire brigade intervened.
Pictures on social media show the truck wedged inside the train, with flames shooting out of it. A passenger carriage at the level crossing was also in flames.
"Czech Railways train collided with a HGV at the level crossing at Olomouc-Bělidla station, causing a train fire. Thanks to the quick reaction of the driver and the engineer, all passengers were evacuated in time. According to the information available so far, our colleagues are now in the care of doctors. Emergency services are on the scene," Czech Railways said.
Due to the collision of a lorry with a train and the subsequent fire, train traffic in Olomouc has been suspended. The incident is affecting traffic, so please check the situation on the network before travelling, Czech Railways said after the collision.
