As reported on Railmarket News, ELP is starting its Balkan tour, with the aim to get one of its two products for lease homologated in Balkan countries. Test runs will start in June in Slovenia and Croatia, followed by Serbia and Montenegro in July 2023.
Steep grades of the railway lines and the possibility to run both under catenary as well as in diesel mode, make this locomotive a perfect candidate for the south-eastern region of Europe. The “Leteći Balkanac” livery of the test locomotive will surely be spotted on social media frequently in the coming months. ELP wants to have the locomotive approved in all four countries by Christmas 2023.
ELP has also announce leasing of additional locomotive to an existing company – BBL Logistik. The rail construction logistics company started operating its first EuroDual in December 2022. ELP now says that the new agreement, signed during this year’s transport logistics fair in Munich, will already be the third EuroDual for this customer. The delivery is scheduled for July 2023.
