Kryukiv Railway Car Building Works (KVSZ) is participating in an experimental state programme offering a 15% cost compensation for domestically produced machinery and equipment.
Two KVSZ tank car models have been added to the compensation list: the 15-7140 for transporting vegetable oils, and the 15-7076 for petroleum products. Purchasers of these wagons may claim back 15% of their value (excluding VAT) upon presentation of payment documentation through an authorised bank.
To qualify, products must have a minimum localisation level of 40%. KVSZ states that its tank cars meet a localisation rate of around 90%. The company attributes this to long-term investment in equipment from manufacturers such as FACCIN (Italy), HYPERTHERM (USA), and ESAB (Sweden), enabling in-house fabrication of pressure-tested boiler ends and automatic welding of cylindrical shells.
The 15-7140 model for vegetable oils is designed for operation on 1520 mm gauge networks in a temperature range of -60°C to +50°C. It features a reinforced frame, full tank volume of 85.6 m³ (usable 83.9 m³), tare weight of 26 t, and a payload capacity of 68 t.
The 15-7076 model for petroleum products shares similar characteristics, with an operating temperature range from -60°C to +50°C, a top design speed of 120 km/h, and identical tare and volume specifications to the 15-7140.
KVSZ has experience supplying tank cars to private logistics operators in Ukraine and internationally, including deliveries to Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Estonia, and Lithuania. Production of tank wagons at the enterprise began in the 1990s with the 15-776 model and its derivatives, including versions with steam heating for viscous petroleum products.
Deliveries are made under contract, with the manufacturer stating readiness to fulfil orders in specified volumes and timeframes.
