This project wants to improve the flexibility and efficiency of special transport operations by accommodating various coupling heights and handling significant force transmissions.

IGT and Bentheimer Eisenbahn are working together to overhaul wagons at Bentheimer Eisenbahn's workshop in Nordhorn. These wagons are being prepared to serve as coupling cars for special transports starting in autumn 2025.

The upgraded cars will be equipped with a coupling adapter that allows continuous adjustment of the coupling height from 635 mm to 1060 mm via SOK. This height-adjustable coupling carrier can transmit tensile forces up to 600 kN and compressive forces up to 1000 kN.
