While Silesian Voivodship opts for more Newag trains, Kujawy and Pomerania Voivodship will get new PESA units.

The Kujawy and Pomerania Voivodship has announced the acquisition of seven new PESA electric trains to replace the older models currently in operation within the region. They will join the fleet of 33 trains owned by the provincial government, operated by Arriva and Polregio.

At first, two four-unit multiple trains will be delivered, expected to commence operation in the summer of 2027.

The agreement, signed by regional officials and the president of Pesa Bydgoszcz, the manufacturing company, highlights the features of the new trains, such as improved energy efficiency, reduced interior noise, and a modern design. The significance of electronic control systems in these vehicles was also underscored, noting that these systems constitute a considerable portion of the trains' value.

The subsequent five trains will be financed through the regional program European Funds for Kujawy and Pomerania (FEdKP) for the period 2021-2027, alongside contributions from the National Reconstruction Plan.

In March 2024, the Voivodship confirmed a fixed order of 26 units, with the current option, the total amount of new Impuls 2 units operated by Koleje Śląskie will reach 30 units.
