Cargounit has 187 locomotives in its portfolio (104 electric and 83 diesel). The company's fleet is regularly expanded with modern vehicles. Cargounit focuses on Central and Eastern European countries, which represent a very important growth area for the company.
"The current situation in the rail freight market segment supports the development of the locomotive rental fleet. The demand for modern rolling stock is growing due to the need to replace older vehicles with modern ones, and also due to the transfer of a significant volume of goods, which used to be exported from Ukraine by sea, to rail. We see great potential for the locomotive rental market both in Poland and Romania, which is one of the largest railway markets in Central and Eastern Europe" - emphasized Łukasz Boroń, CEO of Cargounit Sp. z o.o.
During the official handover of the Smartron locomotive, the CEO of Cargounit also stated that he wants to increase the number of Smartron locomotives leased on the Romanian market and in Bulgaria.
"We are convinced that the Smartron locomotive, based on proven Siemens Mobility solutions, is the right choice for local haulers (as in this case for Unicom Transport) looking for a modern and reliable locomotive with the highest technical efficiency," Łukasz Boroń added.
