By the end of 2024, RSL will have leased a total of 50 locomotives to ČD. ČD has ordered a further 50 locomotives directly from Siemens Mobility.
ČD uses Siemens Vectron locomotives to operate intercity and national trains. These locomotives are currently in service on Berliner trains to Berlin and Hamburg, on Metropolitan trains to Budapest and on Valašské express trains to Púchov, as well as on trains to Warsaw and Terespol in Poland. In domestic traffic, for example, it is at the head of the Západní expres, Krušnohor or Slovácký expres trains.
Siemens Vectron locomotives have a top speed of 200 km/h, or 230 km/h in the version directly owned by ČD. The locomotives are equipped for operation throughout Central Europe on 3 kV DC, 25 kV 50 Hz AC and 15 kV 16.7 Hz AC power systems. They are equipped with the ETCS signalling system and GSM-R radio communication.
