The complete series of ten units should be delivered by the end of the first quarter of next year.

Polish state-owned carrier PKP Intercity has taken delivery of the first six EffiShunter 300 locomotives from the ten-unit series. The EffiShunter 300 is equipped with a 328 kW CAT C13B internal combustion engine meeting the most stringent EU Stage V emission standards. This is the largest order in Poland in recent years for CZ LOKO.

"We have had several projects in Poland in the past, but this delivery of small EffiShunters is a large and important project for a Polish customer after a long time. We believe that the locomotives will prove themselves in operation and our cooperation with PKP Intercity will not end with this ten-piece series and will continue" said Jan Kutálek, Sales Director of CZ LOKO.

Per the client's special request the EffiShunter 300 locomotive is equipped with recording equipment added to the driver's cab, semi-automatic couplers, and a camera system. Of course, for operation in Poland, the national SHO signaling system and CA vigilance control equipment are standard. The wagon is also equipped with a digital control system, online diagnostics, multiple control, and anti-slip protection.

CZ LOKO's smallest locomotive is also approved in Slovakia and Serbia in addition to the Czech Republic and Poland.

"Thanks to the combination of low acquisition and operating costs, together with their usability, these vehicles have been in our fleet for several years, for example by Czech Railways, the Railway Research Institute, and several other operators abroad," added Jan Kutálek.

PKP Intercity, which is the operator of long-distance passenger transport in Poland, will use the two-axle locomotives mainly for light shunting in depots and layover stations. Of the first six locomotives, four were delivered to Warsaw and two to Krakow. The remaining locomotives are to be deployed in Gdańsk and Katowice.
