A contract has been signed for the construction of a railway siding that will connect to the planned Central Communication Port (CPK) northwest of Warsaw.
The contract, valued at approx. EUR 33 million, was awarded to a consortium of Unibep and Track Tec Construction. The project will be implemented using a design-and-build approach. The contractor will be responsible for preparing design documentation, obtaining permits, carrying out construction work, and securing occupancy certification.
According to CPK estimates, around 40 million tonnes of materials—including aggregates, asphalt, cement, and steel—will be delivered via this siding. The facility is expected to ease the logistical burden on road infrastructure, making rail the primary mode of transport for construction inputs.
The siding will ultimately connect to the planned CMK Północ line, intended to run through Płock and Włocławek to the Tricity area. Once the new airport is operational, the siding will serve its cargo terminal.
In a forthcoming tender phase, CPK and PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe will select a contractor to link the siding with the existing line No. 3, which connects Warsaw West with Łowicz, Kutno, Konin, and Poznań.
