Fenniarail starts with commercial service of its Siemens Vectron locomotives

Fenniarail has started commercial operation with two new Siemens Vectron electric locomotives in Finland.

Test runs were carried out during November and completed successfully. Regular commercial operation began at the end of the month. The locomotives have been named Ahdi and Aino, with the visual design developed by Franz Design Oy.

With the introduction of the two Vectron locomotives, Fenniarail’s fleet now consists of six Dr18 diesel locomotives and three Siemens Vectron electric locomotives. The new additions expand the company’s electric traction capacity for freight operations on the Finnish rail network.
