The train carried communication equipment and auto parts and was operated jointly by Yuxinou (Chongqing) Logistics and Türkiye-based Pasifik Global Logistics, New Silk Road Discovery reports.
The Middle Corridor—formally the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route—links China with Europe through Kazakhstan, the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Türkiye . The corridor combines rail and maritime segments and offers a shorter alternative to traditional ocean freight routes.
Departing on 29 June, the train’s reduced travel time—10 days shorter than conventional rail-sea alternatives—was achieved through coordinated logistics planning and resource alignment between the Chinese and Turkish operators. The journey reflects an effort to develop the Middle Corridor as a viable route for time-sensitive Eurasian cargo flows.
This shipment is the first ultra-express service from Chongqing to use the Middle Corridor. The route is expected to play a growing role in cross-continental freight, especially under current geopolitical conditions, as rail operators seek diversified and resilient logistics pathways between China and Europe.
