The 238 km cross-border railway has advanced through 27 million cubic metres of earthworks and the construction of 80 major structures.
The network will connect 11 cities and regions across the Emirates via a series of purpose-built stations, forming the country’s first integrated national passenger rail system.
The agreement was formalised during the Global Rail 2025 exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Once operational, the network will link key urban centres and communities, reducing travel times and strengthening connectivity across the country.
The service operates between a rail freight terminal in Al Ruwais Industrial City and Khalifa Port in Abu Dhabi.
