The St. Louis-based autonomous railcar manufacturer has appointed former Wabtec President and CEO.

Ray Betler joins Intramotev’s Board of Directors as an independent director.

Betler began his career at Westinghouse as a propulsion systems design engineer and later became the youngest head of engineering and subsequently President and CEO in the company’s 120-year history. He joined Wabtec in 2008, serving as COO before becoming President and CEO.

During his tenure at Wabtec, Betler led global operations and oversaw the acquisition of Faiveley Transport as well as the merger with GE Transportation. The combined business reached more than USD 8bn in revenue and 27,000 employees, securing a place in the Fortune 500.

Intramotev stated that in 2025 it transported more than 350,000 tonnes of material for Carmeuse Americas. In February 2026, the company began a commercial deployment with Watco, a short line railroad holding company in North America.
