On 21 October in Budapest, METRANS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing Trans Eurasia and Xi’an International Port to advance a full‑schedule train service along the corridor between Xi’an (China) and Budapest (Hungary).
The agreement establishes the following key commitments:
- Delivery of a reliable, fixed‑timetable transit service on the Xi’an - Budapest route.
- Enhanced operational coordination across borders to support the corridor flow.
- More stable rail services from China into Central Europe leveraging METRANS’ hubs in Małaszewicze (Poland) and Budapest.
