The company has already informed employees, partners and customers about the suspension of operations and contractual obligations. The decision was made on the basis of force majeure circumstances.
“We unequivocally condemn Russia’s military action against Ukraine. Operations become impossible, therefore all agreements have been suspended since 1 March. We will strive to resume operations as soon as it is safe for our employees,”says Saulius Stasiūnas, CEO of LTG Cargo Ukraine.
LTG Cargo Ukraine first and foremost focuses on employee safety. According to the recommendations of the responsible authorities, Lithuanian citizens working in the company returned to Lithuania before the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The company also employs two Ukrainian citizens, with whom there is a constant contact – both they and their families are provided with all the necessary support, and they have been offered to come and settle in Lithuania. Although the company is not operating currently, no employees are being laid off.
“LTG Cargo Ukraine”, together with all companies of the Lietuvos geležinkeliai (LTG) Group, is supporting Ukraine in this particularly difficult time and is working to find ways to help the country experiencing military aggression. The group’s company “LTG Link” has already offered Ukrainian citizens free train travel on local routes in Lithuania, and LTG has announced that it is ready to accommodate up to 300 people fleeing the horrors of war on its premises.
