The acquisition integrates Exploris' extensive international rail connections into TX Logistik's network, promising improved connectivity on European corridors.

TX Logistik AG, a subsidiary of Mercitalia Logistics, part of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group, has completed the acquisition of Exploris Deutschland Holding GmbH, Hamburg.  The acquisition makes TX Logistik the second-largest rail freight operator in Germany. The selling process was advised from a legal and tax point of view by TIGGES law firm.

"With the completion of the transaction, we have taken a major step forward in confirming the role that Polo Logistica is playing as a European logistics operator. We have embarked on a growth path to increase the volume of goods transported by rail, thanks to increasingly efficient connections both to the national network and to the European rail corridors, consolidating the integration of sea-rail-road transport systems and offering a competitive alternative to road transport throughout Europe," said Carlo Palasciano, Chief International Officer of the Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane Group.

Exploris currently serves 8 countries, including Germany, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria and Switzerland, with 12 direct connections. In addition, the company provides shunting services in Germany and Poland and operates a training center for personnel.

With a vision of enhancing freight volumes transported by rail, the integration of Exploris into TX Logistik's network promises improved connectivity across national and European rail corridors. Integrating both German companies, the combined entity, with a turnover of approximately 500 million euros and a workforce surpassing 1,000 employees, bolsters Polo Logistica's European presence to over 6,000 resources.
