The agreement covers specialist support for station information and security systems at more than 500 stations across the north of England.

Telent has been awarded a new three-year contract by Northern Trains Limited to provide maintenance services across one of the UK’s largest rail station networks.

Under the contract, Telent will be responsible for the upkeep of over 12,000 Station Information and Security Systems assets. These include closed-circuit television, customer information screens, public address systems and passenger help points installed throughout Northern’s managed stations.

The scope of work includes planned and reactive maintenance activities, along with additional services such as CCTV footage retrieval and intruder alarm support. Asset management activities will be delivered through Telent’s certified asset management framework, covering compliance and system performance across the network.

Northern Trains Limited operates under the oversight of the UK Department for Transport and is the country’s second-largest train operator by station count. The new agreement continues a long-standing working relationship between Northern Trains and Telent, which has been in place for approximately 15 years.
