Grupa Azoty KOLTAR played a crucial role in the "Red Bull Bike Express" project, providing the necessary railway infrastructure for a unique mountain biking stunt. The project featured freestyle MTB world champion Dawid Godziek riding a specially constructed bike track on a moving freight train operated by Grupa Azoty KOLTAR.
For this event, the first-ever MTB track was built across ten freight wagons, creating a challenging course for the rider. The train's speed was synchronized with Godziek’s movements in the opposite direction, achieving the effect of a stationary bike ride on a moving train. This innovative setup allowed for a display of skill and agility as Godziek performed various tricks on the track.
Grupa Azoty KOLTAR provided the entire train and its crew, demonstrating the potential for creative applications within the railway sector. This collaboration showcases how rail infrastructure can support unique projects, combining elements of sport and transport in a new way – and the way to present railways in approachable way to new generations.
