Delivery of the remaining two locomotives is planned by the end of 2025.

Arkas Rail has put three new Stadler EuroDual locomotives into operation in Turkey. The units are part of a five-locomotive order placed in 2023 and were built by Stadler at its Valencia facility. The total investment is valued at TRY 96 million (approx. EUR 3 million).

The locomotives will be deployed on Arkas Rail’s services along the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars corridor, connecting Turkey with Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan. The company also maintains block train services linking China and Turkey.

Arkas Rail, a subsidiary of Arkas Logistics Group, intends to use the new units for domestic cargo movements as well. The company’s network covers key Turkish industrial regions including Kayseri, Konya, Ankara, Gaziantep, and Eskişehir. The operator currently manages over 700 wagons.

The rollout of these locomotives is accompanied by infrastructure developments. The newly commissioned Railport terminal in Kartepe and connected warehousing facilities in Mersin Yenice are intended to support integrated rail freight services linking ports with inland industrial zones.
