The leasing model is structured to cover the operational lifecycle of the FLIRT Akku units throughout the duration of DB Regio’s transport contract.

Rock Rail and Infracapital Partners will finance a new fleet of 19 battery-electric multiple units (BEMUs) for DB Regio under a 15-year leasing agreement. The rolling stock, previously announced for the Mittelthüringer Akku-Netz (MAN), will be delivered by Stadler and is scheduled to enter service in December 2028.

The long-term lease covers approximately 3.6 million train-kilometres annually and forms part of a wider procurement framework supporting regional rail transport in Germany. The MAN contract adds to Rock Rail’s German portfolio, which includes rolling stock for the Leipzig S-Bahn and Main-Weser networks.

Infracapital’s involvement continues its activity in core European transport assets, while Rock Rail acts as lessor and asset manager.
