CRRC has recently completed a new batch of diesel locomotives for use in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

These locomotives, designed and manufactured by CRRC Dalian, were made in ten months, and they were precisely adjusted to the environmental factors of the DRC. Various aspects have been optimised, such as air compressor efficiency, vacuum pump displacement, total air cylinder capacity, and cooling efficiency. The wheel hardness has also been increased to enhance wear resistance, supporting the leading line passenger and freight transport needs of the Congo's National Railway Company, SNCC.

Regarding the user interface, the locomotive's controls and monitoring systems are consistent with those currently used in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The locomotives can integrate with existing fleet vehicles in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The narrow-gauge locomotives (1,067 mm) have a power output of 1,380 kW and can reach a maximum 100 km/h speed.
