The new service began operating last week, but not yet as the full through train originally planned between Frankfurt and Przemyśl.
Leo Express currently runs trains between Frankfurt, Prague and Bohumín. Passengers travelling onwards into Poland transfer to connecting buses serving Kraków, Tarnów, Rzeszów and Przemyśl.
The operator said the temporary arrangement is linked to an ongoing economic equilibrium test in Poland. Full rail operation to Przemyśl is planned once the regulatory process has been completed.
The westbound train leaves Bohumín at 17:45, reaches Prague at 22:32 and continues overnight through Dresden, Leipzig, Fulda and Hanau. It arrives at Frankfurt Airport at around 08:26 on selected days.
In the opposite direction, the service departs Frankfurt Airport at 14:39, reaches Prague shortly after 01:00 and terminates in Bohumín at 06:01.
The service uses modernised international RIC coaches with air conditioning and Wi-Fi. Leo Express plans to add Business-class and sleeping cars later, depending on the development of the route.
Timings and stops may differ on individual days because of infrastructure works in Germany. Leo Express advises passengers to check the current schedule in its booking system before travelling.
